Condensing/Combination Boilers
The high efficiency condensing combi or combination boiler is an ingenious space-saving idea & recovers more heat from the amount of gas that is burnt thereby making it more efficient than conventional boilers, it is also becoming an increasingly popular choice in UK home. In fact, combis now account for well over half of all the new domestic boilers installed in Britain every year.

The major difference between a combi and any other type of boiler is that a combi eliminates the need to store hot water, so no hot water cylinder in the airing cupboard. It is both a high-efficiency water heater and central heating boiler, combined within one compact unit which usually sits in the kitchen or utility room, or sometimes in the airing cupboard. The space savings result from the fact there is no hot water storage cylinder, cold water storage cistern or other familiar components of a regular conventional heating system.

By recovering and using heat that would otherwise be lost up the flue, the best high efficiency boilers can operate with seasonal efficiencies in excess of 90%. Although high efficiency boilers require a higher initial investment, they are very economical, and can repay the extra initial cost in fuel .savings. The further benefits of this are a significant saving on hot water costs, and the fact that hot water is delivered through your taps or shower at mains pressure. So you can enjoy powerful showering without the need for a pump. Another combi benefit is that it can generally save you money on installation time and costs as no tanks are required in the roof space means less pipe work and a shorter installation time.
Pressurised Hot Water Systems
System 1 Installations can install an vented & unvented hot water system such as the MegafloHE & Megatech Solar which are widely regarded as the brand leader in vented & unvented domestic water heating. They offer levels of performance that are quite simply unrivalled by the competition with flow rates of up to 72 litres per minute. Whether it's a single bed sit, a luxury family home or a busy sports club shower complex, MegafloHE & Megatech solar ensures a constant supply of high power hot water; day in and day out, year after year. There are two main types of domestic Mains Pressure Hot Water Systems.

Unvented Mains Pressure Systems Vented Mains Pressure Systems
The term "Vented" refers to whether the system is partially vented to atmosphere or completely pressurised and therefore unvented.

Unvented Mains Pressure Systems
In an unvented system, incoming cold mains water typically enters a pressure vessel (for example: a 'Megaflo' made by Heatrae Sadia, or a 'Vantage' made by Vaillant - there are of course others) where it is heated either Directly by means of electrical heater/s, or Indirectly by means of a primary heat exchanger within the vessel being supplied by your central heating boiler. The hot water stored within the vessel is forced out by the incoming cold water when you open a tap hence - Mains Pressure Hot Water.

Vented Mains Pressure Systems
In a vented system, heat is imparted to the incoming mains water by means of a secondary heat exchanger within the vessel. Water in the vessel is used rather like a battery for heat - a Thermal Store. The incoming mains water passes through it's heat exchanger within the vessel drawing heat from the store. The Thermal Store temperature is maintained in the usual way - either directly with electrical heaters, or indirectly by your boiler. Because the water within the Thermal Store does not need to be under pressure (as with an unvented system) it is vented to atmosphere. The body of water within the Thermal Store is used purely as a medium for storing and imparting heat to the secondary exchanger.
Heatrae Sadia MegafloHE
Megaflo is the brand leader in unvented domestic water heating.

In addition to the basic advantages of unvented systems, NEW high efficiency Megaflo HE offers a number of features that place it well ahead of the competition in terms of performance, quality and reliability.

The NEW high efficiency Megaflo HE now boasts numerous innovative features designed to ensure superior levels of operating efficiency, delivering even more hot water – just when you need it!

Thanks to the high-performance ‘coil in coil’ heat exchanger; more hot water is available quicker than ever before.

Heatrae Sadia Unvented Megatech Solar
Climate change is now an undeniable fact which has increased the focus on alternative energy sources.

Solar energy direct from the sun is such a source of energy which, when harnessed, can be converted into heat to generate hot water for the home whilst at that same time helping to reduce carbon emissions and reduce global warming.

Heatrae Sadia now offers Megatech Solar domestic hot water cylinders based on Megaflo HE (unvented) technology, which have been specifically designed for Solar applications.
Under Floor Heating
Under Floor Heating systems are suitable for either new or existing properties. This replaces a conventional radiator system giving more wall space and the ability to place furnishing with out restriction.

Under Floor Heating Operation
The Under floor Heating system can be fitted in both concrete floors and timber suspended floors Similar to a traditional radiator system, where hot water is pumped around, a system of pipe work is installed under floor. Zoning is used to create different result for individual rooms, offering further control when coupled with intelligent heating controls.

Under floor Heating Benefits
Unlike radiators under floor heating eliminates cold spots and as it uses radiant heat rather that convection dust is not circulated, ideal for people with respiratory problems. Heating from the floor up is a more comfortable method of heating reducing energy consumption by up to 35%. Under floor heating requires lower operating temperatures; therefore it is ideally suited for Ground Source Heat Pumps and High Efficiency Condensing Boilers.
